Hershey Chalks Up Nine Wins In First Thirteen Home Games
HERSHEY. Pa.— Although hockey players, like athletes in all other lines of sports, shun the number 13, coach Murray Henderson, of the Hershey bears, believes it is a good omen for his Chocolatetown skaters. And he has good reason to feel that way, for the Bears’ thirteenth victory in 24 starts, pulled them within two points of the pace-setting Buffalo Bisons. That’s the way things stood in the nip and tuck American Hockey League race when the Bears embarked on a six-game road jaunt during the engagement of Ice Follies of 1954 at the Sports Arena. The Bears have been well nigh unbeatable on the friendly confines of the local rink.
