Sharks keep core; focus on Thornton

Coming off their best season in franchise history, the Sharks welcome back nearly all the players who made them so successful in 06-07. However, one major change occurred before the draft, as the team dealt Finnish netminder Vesa Toskala and forward Mark Bell to the Toronto Maple Leafs for draft picks. The move was a vote of confidence to veteran tender Evgeni Nabokov, who shared starts with Toskala most of last season. It was this depth at the goaltending position that allowed GM Doug Wilson to make such a move.
