HOME SCHEDULE WASHINGTON CAPITALS BILL CLEMENT—center Washington violated a cardinal rule giving up a top draft choice, but have obtained an exceptionally stead, player Horn the Flyers Scored 2 gtals in extremely limited action, ma king the most of his ice time… A 1976 first-round choice of the Flyers he spent one and a half seasons in the AHL before making the Philly squad… Known as an unselfish player, he’: excellent defensively with deceptivt speed. GREG JOLY—defense Washington’s first selection in the 19*74 amateur draft was hampered by injuries all last season and appeared in only 44 games with the Caps… 21-year-old rearguard compiled eight points, seven of them assists… At 6’1’. 185 pounds, he has size to keep opposing forwards honest and figures heavily in the Capitals future plans… Hails from Calgary, Alta. BOSTON BRUINS
HOME SCHEDULE BOSTON BRUINS JEAN RATELLE—center Year after year one of the most consistent of NHL players… Came to Bruins in trade involving Park. Esposito and Vadnais…Had 91 points last year, the third time in the last four seasons he’s topped 90… Had spent 13 years with the Rangers and has won the Bill Masterton and Lady Byng Trophies… He was an All Star in 1971-72. JOHN BUCYK—left wing The Chief keeps rolling along as the “Grand Old Man” of the Bruins as he completed his 20th NHL season, the last eighteen in a Bruins uniform… Second in the Lady Byng voting, Bucyk committed just 10-minutes worth of penalties, while scoring 81 points for Boston… He’s closing in on the magic 500-goal mark, and is now 40 years of age. BOSTON BRUINS BOBBY ORR—defense At just 27 years…


PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
HOME SCHEDULE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS BERNIE PARENT—goal Firmly established himself as the NHL’s top goalie by leading Philly to second straight Stanley Cup… In the process he copped both Vezina and Conn Smythe Trophies for the second year in succession… Posted league-leading 12 shutouts during regular season with a 2.03 goals-against average… A stand-up goalie who is the master of “angles”. Parent is 30. JOE WATSON—defense Unsung player who lends a great deal of stability to the stingy Philly defense… Played full season for Bruins in 1966-67 before Philly drafted him… His “stay-at-home” style fits in well with Fred Shero’s system… Likes rough play, but takes few foolish penalties… Elder brother of teammate Jimmy. PHILADELPHIA FLYERS BOBBY I CLARKE—center Inspirational leader of the Flyers, he won the prestigious Hart award as the most valuable player for the second time……


VANCOUVER CAUCKS
HOME SCHEDULE VANCOUVER CANUCKS CHRIS ODDLEIFSON—center A broken jaw forced him out of 20 games last year, but he still gathered 51 points to tie for fourth on the club… Gained immediate respect as team leader after Canucks acquired him in trade with Bruins… Was a first-round choice of California in 1970, but played two minor league seasons for Boston… A good skater, he has excellent potential. ANDRE BOUDRIAS—center Broke club record for points last year when he had 78, including 62 assists which also broke club record… In doing so passed 300-assist mark after eight years in the NHL… This speedster is an excellent playmaker despite small size… Took six minor league seasons with Canadiens chain before he moved up to NHL through Minnesota… Has played five seasons for Canucks VANCOUVER CANUCKS GARY SMITH—goal Considered MVP of…
