VALUE OF ERRORS DECREASES OVER TIME

It seems a lot of emphasis is being put on error cards. Instead of being seen as defective, the error cards are given higher status. Upper Deck only made a few errors, so are their cards less than valuable than Pro Set’s which had a ton of errors? Brian Kozak Edmonton, Alta. Some people like collecting error cards because of their relative scarcity. However, overtime, error cards—except for the extremely rare ones—I tend to decrease in value as the hovelty wears off. Some stores don’t even sell error cards because they feel they are nothing more than defective merchandise. The Upper Deck set will continue to be more valuable than the Pro Set series. The large number of errors in Pro Set will not significantly increase its value in the long run. Can…

CHARITY BIG WINNER IN THN COLLECTORS WORLD POSTER AUCTION

Bobby Orr and Eric Lindros met for the first time this past November when the legend and legend-in-waiting posed for The Hockey News Collectors World Charity Auction poster. As a result of the meeting, more than $16,000 was raised for charity. That’s the total amount 25 lucky fans bid on the limited-edition, signed and numbered posters featuring the former and cur-rent Oshawa Generals’ superstars. Only 110 posters were made of the picture which showed Orr and Lindros together on the Generals’ ben chat the Oshawa Civic Auditorium. The original film of the Don Dixon photo was immediately destroyed, as was the color separation.
