VIDEO GAME PUBLISHER Ubisoft generated buzz late last year when it announced Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price, helped design three masks for charity leading to the release of Assassin’s Creed III. Gamers who have already played through the series, however, didn’t need any buzz to pick this title up. Assassin’s Creed III takes place during and after the American Revolution from 1753-1783 and puts you in control of Connor, a new assassin of Native American and English descent. As you play, his story intersects with the modern-day activities of series protagonist Desmond Miles, as he tries to prevent the world from being destroyed by a solar flare. Year after year, Upper Deck is one of the best trading card sets. Its combination of exciting action photography, affordable price and short-printed “Young Guns” rookie cards makes it a perennial favorite. Upper Deck Series One hit the shelves late last year, consisting of 200 cards of veteran players and 50 of rookies. Since card companies can’t issue rookie cards for players until they’ve appeared in an NHL game, the set includes rookie cards only for players who debuted late last season, thanks to the lockout.
