A recent 5-0 whitewash of Moose Jaw Canucks right on Moose Jaw ice was the win which pretty well convinced the sit-on-the-old-fence boys what Lethbridge has what it takes to be a champion. What is the record which so many people call impressive? Well, the Native…

Rambling with Ron Morrier

Just about the time this epitaph hits the newstands, President Clarence Campbell will be making his official statment in conjunction with the current NHL gambling scandal.—Fans throughout the land are wondering who will be singled out as a result of the investigation, guilt will mean banishment from the NHL for life and speculation is rampant as to what players will be affected. Since the gambling tie-up was announced we’ve personally heard of at least TEN different versions as to the guilty ones. I don’t have to 1 a borate on the personal harm it does to a player to be implicated in such a deal, by the thoughtless accusations of some fan who wants to be the centre of debate when chewing the fat with the boys—and usually these claims…

O’CONNOR, BENTLEY, LIGHTWEIGHTS BOTH, PACE N.H.L SCORERS

Buddy O’Connor and Max Maple Leafs respectively, are Bentley, ace centres of New York Rangers and Toronto disproving the theory that you have to be a big and tough guy to star in the fast National Hockey circuit. Actually, little O’Connor and Bentley who both weigh exactly 145 lbs. and are the lightest play ers in the League have led the NHL. scoring race for the greater part of the current campaign. They are both particularly clean players and make very few trips to the penalty box. In the six previous seasons O’Conor spent a total of 22 minutes in the “penitential pew” and Bentley in five seasons spent a total of 28 minutes in the “sin-bin.”…
