The American Hockey League All-Star race gets off to a flying start this week as the fans get their chance to vote for the outstanding goalies in the loop and help place their favorites on THE HOCKEY NEWS team of stars. The balloting for the A.H.L. All-Star team will run for six weeks, with the defencemen, centres, right and left wingers and coaches getting their chance for selection to the fans’ own team in succeeding weeks. Ballotting for positions on the mythical crew will conclude in the March 3 issue with an announcement of the A.H.L. team slated for March 31. Coaching Jobs Change Hands Over In PCHL

LOS ANGELES— A survey of the Pacific Coast Hockey League at this time finds two new coaches since the league opened hostilities last October 21 and the playing mentors boosted from five to six. Ken McKenzie, owner of the New Westminster Royals, was handling the dual job as owner and coach of his club, but vacated the latter position with the acquisition of former New York Ranger star Alex Shibicky in December. Shibicky, left winger on the famed Neil and Mac Colville line, has lifted his Royals from the cellar, into fourth place. The Royals are right on the heels of Vancouver, coached by his former linemate—Mac Colville.
