Getting roster completed would be challenge for B’s

On the outside chance there is a season this year, the Bruins face a challenge putting together a team. The club has just 11 NHL regulars under contract and president Harry Sinden said even if there is a short schedule, it would be tough to pull off. “There are problems you probably don’t realize, like immigration is a big problem. Getting that all together in time, to get these non-U.S. players back in the country, we need some lead time for that.” As for the roster, the team would have to chase free agents. “I think we’ve got over 250 players out there who aren’t signed,” Sinden said. “That’s another aspect of it. Alfredsson finally relents, signs deal tn play at home

Tired of waiting for an NHL season, Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson returned to Sweden. After hoping the league and players’ association could come to an agreement on a new labor deal, Alfredsson, 32, suited up for his first game with Frolunda of the Swedish league Jan. 18. Earning a reported $6,000 a month to help cover massive insurance costs on his five-year, $32.5million deal with the Sens, Alfredsson was happy to get back to playing. “Sometimes I feel a bit lost out there because of the bigger ice,” he said. “But I don’t think it will take very long to adapt. This is what I grew up playing on.”…One player who won’t be joining Alfredsson is defenseman Wade Redden. Frolunda turned down an opportunity to sign Redden because the club…
