Lightning to decide if it will buy or sell

Will the Lightning be buyers or sellers in the trade market? GM Jay Feaster said the month of February was critical. If the team stays in the playoff hunt-and as of Feb. 12 it was in ninth place in the East, one point behind the Montreal Canadiens-he will keep trying to find a top-four defenseman. If not, he might do a little housecleaning. “We have a lot of confidence in this team,” Feaster said. “But if for some reason, if we can’t compete at the level that keeps us in the playoff race and we fall from the pack, we’ll have to assess where we are and where we’re going.” TRADE TALK With injuries to two of their top three defensive defensemen-Jassen Cullimore and Stan Neckar-the Bolts need a top-four blueliner. Falcons strictly made in USA

The Air Force Falcons may wear silver and blue, but their true colors are red, white and blue. The Colorado Springs-based service academy only recruits U.S. citizens who are at least 17 and no older than 23 as of July 1 in the year they enter. Candidates must be single and without dependents to qualify and then need to receive a nomination. Air Force, competing in their 35th season in Division I, was 8-18-2 in early February and in the midst of an 11-game winless streak. A weak power play-9-of-63 since Dec. 28-was a major factor in the slump. “We’ve been experimenting with a lot of different line combos.
