Osgood really bad, goaltender slumping

Some Detroit Red Wings’ fans are calling for Chris Osgood’s head after the goalie’s spectacular slump cost his team three points in two home games. After the Chicago loss, his fifth in five starts, he was 5-8 with a 3.39 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage. “I’m wondering when it’s going to end, if there’s an end to it,” Osgood said. “It’s tough to figure out, for a guy who has had a lot of success,” said center Kris Draper, Osgood’s teammate and close friend. “He’s going through a tough spell. Hockey East says TV for free a sly move, so broadcast deal with Fox extended

If you’re a Hockey East fan in New England, don’t touch that dial. Hockey East and Fox Sports Net New England have renewed their television contract for two more years plus an option year. “I’m happy we’re staying with Fox Sports Net New England,” said Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna. “They’ve done a great job covering us. We weren’t interested in changing.” FSNNE, which first linked up with the conference three years ago, beginning in January will broadcast nine regular season games, two or three quarterfinal games, both semifinal games and the league championship. No rights fees are paid, but according to Bertagna, the network assumes nearly $1 million in production costs. FSNNE reaches 3.5 million viewers in six states, while Fox Sports Net as a whole is broadcast to more than 70 million households…
