Sex Scandal Lawsuit Rocks The Blues
The St. Louis Blues franchise has been rocked by allegations center Doug Gilmour seduced and sexually abused a 13-year-old girl last season. In a civil lawsuit filed in St. Louis county circuit court Aug. 30, an unnamed St. Louis family sought $1 million in damages from Gilmour, his wife Robyne, Blues’ president Jack Quinn and the St. Louis Blues Hockey Club, Inc. The suit charges Gilmour repeatedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the girl, who was identified only as Jane Doe in the suit. The girl, now 14, apparently lived with the Gilmours, though her precise relationship with them has not been disclosed. Ranger Goalie Back Ahead Of Schedule

Vanbiesbrouck fell through a glass…

Franchise Moves Fall Apart At Last Minute
A proposal to move the minor-league affiliates of the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings fell apart on Sept. I, the day after it was discussed during the American League’s semi-annual meeting in Binghamton, N.Y. The plan called for the Rangers to leave Denver, where they have operated the Colorado (now Denver) Rangers of the International League for one season, and return to New Haven of the AHL. Los Angeles, in turn, would move its AHL franchise from New Haven to Hamilton, Ont. The changes would have produced a record-high 15-team league, forced AHL President Jack Butterfield to draft a new schedule and possibly realign the league into three divisions. Los Angeles was believed to be interested in Hamilton and its three-year-old, 17,000-seat Copps Coliseum because of its proximity to Brantford,…
