TACKLA PRO
The popularity of Tackla hockey pants continues to rise due to word of mouth endorsement at all levels by players who wear them. Innovative design and materials have established Tackla as the leader in development of superior protection with maximum comfort, minimum weight, and perfect fit. Overlapping panels create a “protective armour” within the pant and disperse impact unlike pads that are drawn/pulled tight against the body as in the girdle designs. The Pro 2000 has been and continues to be Tackla’s leading seller for over half a decade. It is from this original design that the Pro 3000 worn by many NHL, National, and top college teams evolved. Now a new Pro 5000 model features a zip-off removable outer shell. Construction of the Pro 5000 is similar to the currently…
Hawk Netminder Back In Business
CHICAGO BLACK HAWKS CHICAGO—Climbing the walls is nothing new to a goaltender. For some, it’s a frequent occurrence. But climbing trees? It can leave you out on a limb. And in a cast, as Murray Bannerman found out. Bannerman, who shoulders the load in goal for the Black Hawks, was doing some gardening on the grounds of his suburban Chicago home back in June when he found himself out on that limb. “I was pruning a tree,” he said. “I was up in the tree and I got stuck between a couple of branches, and my hand got caught.” Bannerman broke the metacarpal bone below the index finger between the knuckle and wrist of his left (catching) hand, and wound up in a cast. It’s not really a fun way to spend your summer vacation. “I was…
Calgary Common Bond For Two Toronto Goalies
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS TORONTO—Last year was a confidence-builder for goalies Tim Bernhardt and Don Edwards…but for opposite reasons. Bernhardt, because he thrived on a heavy workload in his rookie National Hockey League season. And Edwards, because he endured a reduced workload in his ninth NHL season. “I know I can play. I think I’ve proven to myself and maybe other people that I can play here. There was doubt in my mind but after last year I know that I can do it and do it well,” says Bernhardt, who finally got a big-league break with the Toronto Maple Leafs after six seasons of minor-league frustration. He responded superbly, becoming the No. 1 goalie after starting the season with the St. Catharines Saints in the American League. In the meantime, Edwards was working to maintain his…
PRO-FIT
We don’t have to inform you continually hockey equipment purchases can add up to an expensive proposition. If you are a goal-tender or someone who buys equipment for a goaltender, it is especially so. The goal-stick Protector® was developed with escalating costs in mind. It doesn’t matter whether you go through three or three dozen goal-sticks during a season — the goal-stick Protector® will greatly reduce your stick expenditures. The goal-stick Protector® is a reusable, long-lasting, flexible sleeve designed to snugly accommodate the blade, lie and lower shaft of any goal-stick. The protective shield prolongs goal-stick life by substantially reducing stick cracking and chipping and eliminating heel wear and subsequent moisture penetration which weakens wood fibres. In fact, the shock absorbing properties of the protective cover are so effective, cracked sticks…
