Center Switches Reroute “The Train”
CALGARY—The constant line juggling. conceded Eric Vail, required some adjustments. For over two years, the man they call “The Train” combined with Bob MacMillan and Guy Chouinard to form one of the highest scoring lines in the National Hockey League. Suddenly, with coach Al MacNeil searching for some consistency on the attack. Vail found himself patrolling the left side on a line with MacMillan and the shifty Swede. Kent Nilsson. Their mutual unfamiliaritv not withstanding, the three seem to like the new arrangement. Case in point: A game against the St. Louis Blues that started a recent Flames’ homestand. In hindsight there are a lot of things…

Nanne. “Players have to be disciplined,” said the Minnesota GM. “As soon as they learn what will happen if they don’t go where they’re supposed to, the rule will be great.” This is reassuring news to Scotty Morrison, the man in charge of handing out whistles, striped shirts and soothing “Now, now, calm…
