• IN A GAME reminiscent of a Stanley Cup final the New York Islanders defeated Montreal Canadiens, 2-1. the other night, stoping Canadiens’ streak at six games. It was one of the finest NHL games we’ve seen played for a long time. It was go-go right from the opening whistle to the final seconds. Chico Resch, playing before his parents who were visiting him from Saskatchewan, played brilliantly in goal for the Islanders. Stan Fischler had us as his guest between periods on the Islanders’ cable TV network. Dartmouth’s Shuffle Strengthens Ivy Lead

BOSTON—Providence, Vermont, and Dartmouth moved closer to clinching ECAC Division One postseason playoff berths as the first week of February arrived. RPI, Brown, and New Hampshire all posted wins to climb a few notches in pursuit of the leaders while Clarkson lost three straight to fall from first place in the ECAC West. Dartmouth, with the newly assembled line of senior Ross Brownridge between Shawn Tee-vens and Dennis Murphy leading the way, knocked off front-running Boston College 6-5 in Hanover, then nipped Cornell 4-3 in Ithaca to solidify its hold on first place in the Ivy Division. When selecting a hockey schoo for your youngster there are many priorities to be considered. You should inquire as to the amount of ice provided at the school as well as the extent of office activities and the facilities that will be made available to your child.
