PRINCETON— Someone suggested that the Princeton University Tigers hire a seamstress last week after the team, still winless in 13 ECAC Division One games, tied Harvard 7-7 in overtime for their fourth deadlock of the long rebuilding season. The seamstress could remove the “G” from each Princetonian’s sweater, then reattach the remaining letters to spell “Tiers” to give fans a better picture of the way Princeton’s second season under well-regarded coach Jimmy Higgins has progressed. Higgins actually managed a chuckle at the seamstress stratagem a few days later as his team finally broke the drought with a 3-2 victory over playoff-bound Yale at Baker Rink. Barrett’s Return Postponed Again By All Star Week
BLOOMINGTON— The 10-day vacation should have been universally acclaimed by all players not involved in the All Star series against the Soviets. And probably was. Except for Fred Barrett, the defenseman of the Minnesota North Stars who just returned from a twomonth layoff with a thigh injury. In that respect, the time off might be good for the leg, but not necessarily the desire.
