Ron Ullyot, who was a member of the 1973 Turner Cup champion Fort Wayne Komets. The significance? Fort Wayne smoked Garvin’s Port Huron club in four straight in the finals. NHL, Major Juniors Agree On New Deal NEW YORK— The NHL, Canadian Major Junior League and the CAHA have entered into a new agreement covering reinbursement for drafted amateur players. The agreement calls for the NHL to carry out the following repayment plan: $1,000 for each drafted player; $7,000 for each first round draft who signs an NHL contract; $5,000 for each player drafted in the second round and signed to an NHL contract; $4,000 for each third or later round draft who signs an NHL pact; $5,000 for each 40 games played in the NHL during the next succeeding four seasons with a $20,000 maximum per player. Ed Chynoweth, chairman of the major leagues, said the deal was a compromise and was considerably less than the juniors had sought from the NHL.…
