Playoff Exposure Beat Draft In North Stars’ Priorities
TWIN CITIES — A week longer of a season was better than no post-season at all. Minnesota North Stars, surprise second-place finishers in the Smythe Division, made the playoffs this season for the first time since 1972-73. But any hopes of advancing past the elimination round of the Stanley Cup playoffs were quickly squashed by Buffalo Sabres, who took the North Stars in two straight games. 4-2 in Buffalo and 7-1 in Minnesota.
