Underdog Spokane Flyers Thrill To Victory Again
SPOKANE— It’s not every day that an American team wins the Allan Cup as the senior amateur champions of Canada, and even though Spokane’s Flyers (formerly Jets) have done it thrice, the joy seemed no less hearty in the dressing room this year than in’70 or’72. Champagne, beer, pop and most anything else flowed everywhere (occasionally even down the players’ throats, victory stogies puffed away, and the exuberant screams ot grown men suddenly gone crazed could be heard throughout the emptying Spokane Coliseum.
