SOUTHWEST LEAGUE ROUNDUP
ALBUQUERQUE— Amarillo Wranglers picked up right wherethey left off by shocking the Albuquerque Chaparrals twice right in their New Mexico backyards in the opening two games of the Southwest Hockey League finals. After disposing of the Minot Raiders in four lopsided semi-final contests, Amarillo rode the outstanding netminding of Doug “Woody’ Allen to 3-1 and 6-3 victories in Albuquerque. Allen, the co-holder of the league’s most valuable goaltender award, faced 81 shots in the two games allowing but four goals as coach Cal Swenson’s Wranglers jumped into a two-game advantage… Game three and four now shift back to Amarillo, prompting Chaparrals’ coach Bob Gernander to hope that his team can duplicate the road success of the Amarillo squad. Leach’s 5-Goal Feat Put Flyers In Final

The Canadiens put the frosting on the cake in game five the same night as Leach was shooting the Bruins full of holes in the Spectrum.…

Sault ‘Box Office’ Champs Of OH A As All But Two Clubs Show Increase
ST. CATHARINES— Attendance generally increased in the Ontario Hockey Association Major Junior A League this season but for two teamsit was pure disaster. St. Catharines Black Hawks, who hada poor year at the gate the previous year, dipped even farther into red ink. sliding from 45,811 fans to 34.888 in 66 games. It was so bad that, after 33 years, junior A hockey will not be played in the Garden City next year as owner Hap Emms transferred the cluo to Niagara Falls. The Marlies also had a rough time. One of their chief problems is that they do not have a real home to call their own. With the Toros of the World Hockey Association sharing Maple Leaf Gardens with the National Hockey League Leafs, few dates are left for the Marl boros. In 1974-75,17 of…
