Ontario Sold in U.S and Canada CHICAGO— When they write the book on the 1975-76 Black Hawks, they’ll have to reserve a chapter for Joey Johnston’s saga. It did not begin happily. It threatens to finish the same way. For two three years you always heard rumors that Chicago wanted to obtain this bullish left wing from the California Seals. There was talk that he would come to the Hawks in a blockbuster with Ivan Boldirev. there was talk that he would come alone, there was talk that he would come with someone else. Hockey Ad Lib
Winner On A Loser… THE RANGERS HAD LOST another game in the third period and John Bowie Ferguson, with a profile that could pare potatoes, eyes gleaming like hot coals, followed his New York club into their dressing room, slammed the door behind him. and let loose a tirade that tore through the door stopping the reporters outside in their tracks. Such profanities as poured from his lips brought giggles from our lowly lot as we eavesdropped with all the morals of peeping toms. Well, a winner who made Montreal muscular, the intense ex-Canadien is to be excused if he can’t condone losing. Handicapping horses, operating a lacrosse team and presiding over a sweater factory.
