Arnason Couldn’t Do What Lafleur Could I would like to make a correction on an article written by Ron Siegel (Pittsburgh) in the March 29 issue. He states that Chuck Arnason was Montreal’s No. 1 draft choice in 1971. It seems to me that Guy Lafleur was the Canadiens’ first choice. Some people like Mr. Siegel may have forgotten Lafleur but there also are a lot of people who haven’t. Although he hasn’t always played to his potential, Lafleur is still a valuable part of the Canadiens’ team. This is by far his best year especially with his checking and hitting now becoming appreciated. As far as Chuck Arnason is concerned, he is no Guy Lafleur and couldn’t crack the Canadiens’ lineup.
