CLEVELAND — Since Ron Ward joined the Cleveland Crusaders from the Los Angeles Sharks he has scored 15 goals and added six assists, better than a point per game average. His 29th goal of the season gave the Crusaders a 3-3 tie with the Chicago Cougars and threw the boiling Eastern Division WHA playoff scrap further into confusion With four teams fighting for three spots, one had to be odd man out among, Quebec. In their 21 games, they made a strong run at the teams above them, a stratling accomplishment in itself.…

Muskegon. Columbus and Saginaw are the “haves” and the Turner Cup champion probably will come from that foursome. Port Huron and Fort Wayne are the “have nots” and Flint and Dayton also experienced “down” years Only Toledo finished virtually on a par with last season. Last year Fort Wayne won the Huber Trophy for the overall point championship and added the Turner Cup to its South Division crown. This year the Komeis ranked eighth among nine teams and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 1962. Flint won the North Division title in 1973 but had to rally…
