Morrison Finds Turning Clippers Around Not Easy
BALTIMORE— Jim Morrison is finding the coaching world a tough business. No longer are the patrons willing to put up with the poor play they have been witnessing since October. They want an improved club—now. The razzing reached its peak in a recent game versus Atlanta, one which saw Islanders go down to defeat at the hands of their fellow expansionists for…
PASSING THE PUCK
• BILL (COWBOY) FLETT doesn’t mind looking like an Apostle. “If you look different, with long hair and beard, people think you’re flaky. If the beard bothers the guys or management, I’d shave it off. I’m the one who has to walk around in public. It doesn’t bother me, so why should it bother anyone else?” stated Flett who has had a fine first half and should topple his 26-goal NHL high with Los Angeles during the first year of expansion … It appears as if Toronto Maple Leafs will trade off their captain and star forward Dave Keon to Montreal Canadiens in a many-playered deal that will supply Toronto with the goalkeeping and defense they so sorely need. Leafs have continually tailed to deny that Keon was on the…
