Rick Dudley Turns To Scoring
CINCINNATI— Rick Dudley knows that to make the National Hockey League, he has to be able to skate well, be tough and be able to score goals. The skating and toughness never were a problem for the rugged Cincinnati right winger, but scoring goals was. Now the 23-year-old seems to be solving that and, at the same time, is cutting down on bad penalties and misconducts that totaled 272 minutes in just 51 games for the Swords last season. The 6-0, 190-pounder had a brief fling with the parent Buffalo Sabres early this season and came back to Cincinnati with the thought he’d like to make the NHL his permanent address as soon as possible. For his first 15 games with Cincinnati, Dudley had eight goals and five assists for 13 points. Eight goals in…

Walton Leader Of Totems After Starting Year On Bench
SEATTLE— Bob Walton spent one game on the bench. He didn’t like it, which is one reason he isn’t likely to be back gathering sprinters. He rebounded with a plurry of points and now the 23-year-old center leads the Seattle Totems in scoring with 22 points, including eight goals. “Our line is going now,” he said, and referring to his earlier performances. “We had a lot of guys here. I guess they all were trying.” Walton’s current linemates are Bryan McSheffrey and Dan Seguin. Seguin is among the Western Hockey League’s top 10 point getters with eight goals and 18 points, and McSheffrey could pass everyone at the rate he’s collecting points. McSheffrey, 20, was sitting on the bench with the parent Vancouver Canucks and when he was sent down, the 6-2, 205 pound rookie was…
