After Five Years, Crisp Still Predating For Blues
ST. LOUIS— Terry Crisp is one of hockey’s happy warriors. He puts a lot of himself into the game but doesn’t demand a lot in return. And he has been highly appreciative of the opportunities and good fortune that have come his way. He minimizes his own talents and is constantly amazed that he’s playing with the big boys in the National Hockey League. The fact is that Crispy is a very valuable member of the St. Louis Blues. He is one of three current St. Louis players chosen in the original expansion draft in 1967, and the Blues have never had cause to regret his selection. It might be more exciting for the viewers, but how fair would it be for the players? They play hard enough as it is; another ten minutes or so on the ice after sixty minutes of hard work is, as far as I am concerned, too much to ask. I have seen the strain put on the players during Stanley Cup games when they are subjected to overtime. I understand that this is necessary in the playoffs but am decidedly against it for the regular season. I am an avid hockey fan and am more than satisfied…
