Leafs Entrenched In Fourth, Show No Signs Of Coing Higher
TORONTO— The management of Toronto Maple Leafs has responded to criticism of the team’s firstquarter record with near silence, broken only by occasional declarations that nobody was panicking. Noel Price, their top defenseman and captain, was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. Many players have been injured, including Larry McNabb with a dislocated shoulder, Camille Lapierre and top…

CHICAGO— Watching Bobby Hull earn his living day in and day out is enough to make a man spoiled. Each and every maneuver on the ice seems so natural, even those which require brute strength mixed with finesse. One can become so spoiled watching him. in fact, that when The Golden Jet tells you his engines are slowing down your first reaction is that of utter disbelief But listen. “There is a little something that isn’t there anymore,” smile No. 9. “I just don’t seem to have that extra little zip anymore. Maybe its just because it’s still early in the season…but maybe it’s just because I’m getting a little old.” Hull fingers his sparse head of hair. During the summer, he underwent an expensive and painful transplant, and the new roots are just starting…
