In The East Paul Henderson played a major role in the Leafs’ making the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. With the post-season round up, he hasn’t lost any of his momentum as the New York Rangers discovered last week. Henderson was a virtual ball of fire against the surprised Rangers, who had to battle back to gain a 22 split in the first four games of their series with the Leafs. One reason they did was because they didn’t contain Henderson, who broke out for five playoff goals in the first three games. Outfitted in a specially-designed bird-cage face mask to protect his dislocated jaw, Henderson rammed in two goals in the series opener, two in the second and one in the third game. AT MONTREAL First Session — Aug. 1-7 Second Session — Aug. 8-14 BILINGUAL HOCKEY INSTRUCTION Each student will receive individual and group instruction and a typical “on-ice” session would cover: • SHOOTING Score power through effective shooting. • FORWARDS The art of deflections. • DEFENCE Demonstration of how to turn and skate attackers in “no score” zone. • SKATING Squad relays on pylons, covering power skating, strong starts and fast stops with puck. • SCRIMMAGE Complete squads pitted against each other with emphasis on positional ploy. • SAFETY Each session will be limited to 2 squads of 20 players per squad.
