The Pressures Of Prominence MIKE WALTON IS ONLY 26 years of age. He is small, but skilled on skates and with a hockey stick. He turned pro in the 1965 season and scored 40 goals for Tulsa in the minors. He made the majors in the 1967 season and scored 30 goals for Toronto the next year, his first full campaign. He scored 22 goals the next season and 21 last year. But his bosses considered him temperamental and hard to handle and were unhappy with him. He had married into the Maple Leaf family, which seemed to compound the pressures on him to produce in Toronto.
