Puck Plays Tricks On Ottawa 67’s; Fired Up Dale Tallon To Pay $110
OTTAWA— Goals which were disallowed both hurt and helped the Ottawa 67’s cause as the Ontario Hockey Association junior A schedule approached the three-quarter mark. In Ottawa a shot from the blueline bounced in off Brian Mc Sheffre’s skate and was nullified when referee Tom Brown claimed that the Ottawa forward had deliberately directed the puck into the net with his skate. Both are eager to take on all comers, and when one is involved in a fight, the other is usually the first to help. Oil King general manager Bill Hunter obtained the twins from Calgary Centennials during the…

PASSING THE PUCK
• ST. LOUIS— The 23rd annual National Hockey League awards’ banquet was by far the biggest and best dinner ever staged by hockey’s major circuit. For the first time in its history the dinner was open to the public and more than 900 hockey fans paid $25 a plate for their own pleasure and for the benefit of the Children’s Zoo at the famed Forest park here. All of the various NHL tropies and individual awards were presented during the course of the evening and the coemcees Jack Buck and Dan Kelly did a superb job in keeping the proceedings moving…The 23rd annual game, played the following night, was too one-sided to be classed as a particularly thrilling game but Jacques Plante playing goal for the West Division All-Stars was…
