Size No Problem For Scrappy Little Billy Inglis
SPRINGFIELD— The first thing you notice about little guy Billy Inglis is the ready smile he always has and the warm greeting he gives everyone. But the 5-8, 160 pounder is all heart as he goes about his job. He’s been in a scoring slump, but has worked his way out. Last season, he performed very well with Springfield and was called up to the parent NHI club. It was the general opinion that he would stay up this season. But since he did not, Springfield fans are glad the little guy is back. Billy is a scrapper and hustler every minute he’s on the ice. He also manages to handle his share of the big guys who are trying to prevent him from scoring. The 26-year-old center is now in his third…

Muskegon’s Blanchette Latest To Join IHL’s Four-Goal Club; Leafs—Gems’ Game Penalty Free
MUSKEGON— Bernie Blanchette, right wing of the Muskegon Mohawks, joined the almost-exclusive four-goal club of the International Hockey League when he recently scored four times against the Fort Wayne Komets. Blanchette’s “Texas hat trick” was achieved on Jan. 9 and it was unusual in that he scored the first four goals of the game, two in each of the first two periods as the Mohawks defeated the Komets, 6-1. The Mohawk winger barely missed on two other good chances to score, as teammates Darrell Knibbs and Joe Kiss supplied the other Muskegon goals. Blanchette’s four-goal game was the third of the season in the IHL. Hugh Harris, another Mohawk and Doug Abel of the Flint Generals registered the ‘Texas hat’ earlier in the season. Regular hat tricks have been unusually numerous in the IHL…
