Plante, Plager—Battle of Words

ST. LOUIS. Mo.— Goaltender Jacques Plante of St. Louis Blues admits he is a poor loser-even in practice. “I count everything that goes in and I have a quick temper,” Plante, said following a 90-minute workout in preparation for opening game of the Stanley Cup semifinal against Los Angeles Kings. Plante gave up two goals in less than two minutes which prompted Plager to make some not - too - complimentary remarks. Plante told Plager that if the thought he could do better he should play goal. “The argument with Barclay was forgotten almost as soon as it happened. But it doesn’t matter if it’s a game or a practice, I hate to lose.”…

Desjardins was “rookie of the year” in the AHL last season, and Croteau has been named that by the coaches this season. Desjardins is a deserving candidate for such an honor in the NHL this season — he has been given such, unofficially, by…
