DO REFEREES KEEP AN EYE on the so-called bad guys of hockey as some people think they do? … Herb Ralby, writing in the Boston Bruins program, quotes veteran referee John Ashley as saying: “No, there is no such thing as a marked plaver. Chicago-Montreal Game Launches 13 TV Dates

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The National Hockey League has announced a 13-game television schedule which began with the Jan. 4 game in Montreal between the Canadiens and Chicago Black Hawks. In all CBS will air 13 regular season games on a nation-wide network throughout the United States with 12 of the contests on Sunday afternoons. In addition a minimum of five Stanley Cup playoff games will be telecast, starting April 6, the NHL announced. The TV schedule: Jan. 4 — Chicago at Montreal. Jan. 12 — St. Louis at Minnesota.
