LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Recently we wrote a magazine piece in which Eddie Joyal explained that progress was difficult for the professional hockey player who is a bachelor. “Come cut-down time or any other time when someone has to go, and, all other things being equal, the guy who gets the bad news will not be the guy with the wife and kids to feed,” Eddie grinned wistfully. “The guys in the front office look around and say: “Let’s send Eddie Joyal out again; he’s not married, he’s got no kids, the move won’t be any hardship on him.” And, bang, Eddie Joyal is on his way again,” Joyal concluded. Junior Star Dale Power Hoping For Pro Career

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - St. Catharines Black Hawk centre Dale Power, one of the oustanding rookies in the Ontario Hockey Association junior A League, is in the pleasant position of having two athletic careers from which to choose. Power, a slim, 18-year-old who stands 5 ft. 11 in. and weighs only 158 pounds missed three weeks of the junior A schedule after being struck by a slapshot fired by teammate Jerry Korab and losing six teeth. More than 20 stitches were required to close the wound in his upper lip. However since his return he has scored five goals in three games and has sparked the Hawks to two wins after they had lost their previous seven starts.
