Robinson Primed For Expansion Unless Rangers Protect Winger
BALTIMORE, Md.— One of several players among Baltimore Clippers whom the scouts from the new expansion clubs of the National League have been quietly screening has to be the tall, handsome left winger, Douglas Garnet Robinson. This 26-year old St. Catharines, Ont. native enjoyed an outstanding campaign with the Clippers. In 63 games he tallied 72 points to grab the club's runnerup spot behind ageless Willie Marshall. Of those 72 points, 39 were lamp lighters thus allowing Robbie to erase the Clipper club mark of 38 goals in one season set by Gordon Labossiere in 1964-65. Of course, it is entirely possible that neither the new nor the old NHL clubs will get a shot at Robbie. Off his credentials this winter, the lanky portsider may conceivably be withdrawn from the unprotected draft…

Rochester's Hopes Dashed As Douglas Breaks Hand
ROCHESTER, N.Y.— The Rochester Americans' hopes of retaining the Calder Cup were given a severe jolt in the semi-final playoffs when ace defenseman Kent Douglas suffered a broken hand. Douglas, the former rearguard of the Toronto Maple Leafs who was sent to Rochester on option during the season, had been the Americans' top backliner offensively. He suffered the arm break in the fourth game of the semi-finals against Baltimore. Douglas, who won the NHL rookie of the year award in 1962-63, played 11 games for Rochester during which time he scored 7 times and picked up 16 points. He had started the season with Toronto but was shipped to Tulsa of the CPHL after 39 games in the NHL. Leafs later transferred him from Tulsa to Rochester.…

Hicke “Hot” Goal Scorer For Clippers
BALTIMORE, Md.— Baltmore's best hockey winter since the city entered the American Hockey League in the Fall of '62, came to an end last week when the defending Calder Cup champion Rochester Americans eliminated the Clippers in the semifinal round three games to one. From every standpoint, this was by far the Clippers' top effort in the AHL. Terry Reardon's skaters finished second in the eastern division — their highest windup in five years — and then went further in the post-season playoffs by eliminating Quebec three games to two in the quarterfinals before bowing to the powerful Amerks. The club was also a solid success at the gate. A total of 210,440 fans went through the turnstiles for the regular 36 home games and five playoff dates, surpassing their former one-year high…
