• BOBBY HULL took 277 shots on goal in scoring his 47 goals. This gives the Chicago scoring sensation a shooting percentage of 17.1, highest of his career and an increase from the 15.3 percent he had last season when he fired 352 shots in scoring 54 goals … He averages 4.8 shots per game and has had at least one shot on goal in every game played this season… Rumours persist that there is trouble in the camp of the Quebec Aces. Bastien Confident Hornets Will Snap Goal, Win Slump

PITTSBURGH, Pa.— The big guns are silent. Just when it appeared the Pittsburgh Hornets were on their way to setting a number of team and league records the club hit a scoring drought and went throught a six game winless streak. During the goal famine the Western Division leaders tallied just eight goals in the half dozen games. Little wonder why they picked up just one point via a tie while losing the other five times out. And it’s the team’s leading scorers who can’t seem to find the range. During this stretch Don McKenney, Ted Taylor and Parker MacDonald have failed to score. Billy Harris, Duke Harris and Terry Gray have notched just one tally apiece. While they still hold a wide lead in the Western Division race over the defending champion Rochester Americans…

U.S. Import Jovan Marich Makes Good In Canadian Hockey

CORNWALL, Ont.— Left-winger Jovan Marich is a cinch to be on everyone’s all-star team in the Central Junior A Hockey League this season. The Massena N.Y.-born Marich finished in third spot in the league’s scoring parade this season with 86 points including 46 goals. This is his last season in junior hockey and word has it that he, along with goaltender Harold Murphy, will be asked to try out with Tulsa Oilers of the Central Pro League next year. Marich is property of Toronto Maple Leafs. Marich is the only U.S.-born player in the league and is still an American citizen. With this status Jovan has something else in mind before accepting any pro hockey offers. “I’m hoping to tryout for the U.S. Olympic team next year,” Marich related. “This is my real preference… I…
