PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Bill Putnam, head of the new Philadelphia hockey team, is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for the finest sports arena in the nation. He is just back from a tour of new sports arenas in Portland, Oregon; Oakland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Accompanied by his consulting architects (Skidmore, Owings and Merrill) who built the Portland and Oakland arenas, Putnam checked into the good and bad points of the Arenas. He was advised as to the essentials for his new arena which will house the NHL team for the 1967-68 campaign. Putnam wants to incorporate the best features of these arenas into the new structure that is so vitally needed here. Blake Calls Rousseau Most Improved Player

“you like 7up 7up likes you” “you like 7up 7up likes you” MONTREAL, Que. Bobby Rousseau, who is winding up his most productive season in the NHL, is the most improved player on the Canadien team. That’s the word from coach Toe Blake, who has watched Rousseau score more goals and rack up more assists in 60-odd games than he ever did in a full schedule. Bobby had already notched goal No. 26 by mid-March and had amassed a total of 42 assists. His previous high was 25 goals and 31 assists, spread over the 70 games of the 1963-64 campaign. “He’s definitely the most improved man on the team.” says Blake, “although, there are others like Dick Duff who’ve also played better for us this year than last.
