BUD POELE, San Francisco GM: The best at any one time was Vic Stasiuk one year, 1952 or 1953, when I had him in Edmonton. He had around 80 points in 40 or 50 games before he got hurt. That year, he was the best ever by about ten miles. For a long time in this league, you have to go with Guyle Fielder. No question about it. He must have scored 9000 points in this league. Millar, Victoria Part After Blow-up, Fight With Players, Officials

VICTORIA, B. C. The career of one of the Western League and minors’ outstanding all-time players may be near an end now in the wake of a blow-up that has further torn asunder the once-proud Victoria Maple Leafs. Goalie Al Millar, blamed and resenting being blamed for a major role in his team’s collapse, has argued with his teammates, notably Steve Witiuk, as well as his coach, Frank Mario, and his manager, Buck Houle. When a goaling emergency arose in the parent NHL camp, Toronto recalled Bruce Gamble from Tulsa of the CPHL and ordered Millar to Tulsa as a replacement for Gamble.
