Group Honors Beliveau, Pollock

MONTREAL, Que., Canadiens G. M. Sammy Pollock and team captain Jean Beliveau have been honored by the Sportsmen’s Association of Montreal. At the Association’s 33rd annual awards dinner, held in this city recently, Pollock was named pro executive of the year while Beliveau received the Sportsmen’s Trophy as athlete of 1965. A former Hab, Pete Morin, was named amateur executive of 1965. Morin was a forward on the famed “razzale dazzale” line of Morin-Heffernan and O’Connor, which starred for Canadiens a couple of decades ago. He owns the amateur team Lachine Mardons. Pollock made a brilliant start as general manager of the Habs last year, by helping to guide the team to the Stanley Cup. Beliveau was a brilliant figure in the playoffs, last year, pacing Canadiens to a Stanly Cup with an outstanding…
