Flyers Win Turbulent Cup Series

EDMONTON, Alta.— Niagara Falls Flyers again proved this season that the best junior hockey remains in the East. The Flyers, Ontario Junior Hockey League title-holders, brought the Memorial Cup to the East for the second straight year and their easy five-game series conquest of the Edmonton Oil Kings in the turbulent junior final was further proof that the game at the under 21 age level is at its peak in Eastern Canada. Niagara polished off the Oil Kings 8-1 in the fifth game to take the rough-and-tumble best-of-seven filial 4-1 after they had won the fourth game by an almost identical 8-2 score with Brian Bradley contributing the first five-goal performance seen in Memorial Cup playoffs in many years. Entries Heavy For Brown Golf

HAMILTON, Ont. Entries from past and present National Hockey League stars continued to pour in for the fifth annual Adam Brown golf tournament to be held at the Glendale Golf Club here June 19. Chairman Gordon Hampson said a field of 50 hockey stars and 50 top amateur golfers was expected to tee off in the event. Among the early hockey players entries were Ted Kennedy, Glen Harmon, Harry Howell, Ron Stewart, Bob Nevin, Pit Martin, Paul Henderson and Dave Creighton.…
