No Conflict As Clipper ‘Coaches’ Join Forces

BALTIMORE, MD. There is nothing suggesting an “uneasy” situation with two coaches around for Baltimore’s new bid in the American League race. The Toronto defense is far the…

Arnett Quits Pro Hockey, Blades Sell Con Madigan

LOS Angeles, Calif. Frank Arnett, ‘Bad Man’ defenceman of the Los Angeles Blades the past two seasons, has served notice of his retirement from professional hockey. Arnett, 32, turned professional with Seattle of the WHL in 1952-53, quit pro hockey for the 1955-56 and 1956-57 seasons, then returned to the wars with Winnipeg of the WHL the following season. Los Angeles obtained the fiery defender from Seattle. Arnett received a $300 fine and an indefinite suspension when he allegedly roughed Referee Willie Papp during a playoff game with San Francisco at the Sports Arena April 15. In explaining his reasons for leaving pro hockey, Arnett said he wishes to attend college and will seek amateur reinstatement. Con Madigan, who played defense during the 1963-64 Western Hockey League season, has been sold to the Providence Reds…
