Junior Ace Frank Huck Hot With Record 88-Goal Season
SASKATOON, Sask.— The biggest thing to hit the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League this winter was Francis Huck, an 18-year-old scoring whiz who delights in re-writing the record books. Huck, who stands something less than five-foot-10 and pivots the Regina Pats’ classy “Golden Hawk” line, has established scoring standards that might never be surpassed in a similar schedule. With more than a week left in the regular season, Huck’s output stands at 88 goals and 63 assists for 151 points. The previous records, both set in the early 1960s, were 66 goals by Gord Turlik of Prince Albert Mintos and 136 points by John Rodger of Estevan Bruins. Huck’s feats have been instrumental in attendance boosts in several centres, including Regina, which is averaging more than 2,000 fans per game. Another city whose customers came out in…
