Detroit Ace Prolific Power Play Marksman
DETROIT, Mich.— Parker MacDonald doesn’t qualify for a Q.C. after his name or a K.B.E. but the Red Wings’ Sid Abel might consider tacking on a P.P.E. before MacDonald heads home to Sydney, N.S., for the summer. That would stand for ‘Power Play Expert’ which MacDonald has been this season. Stick at the ready and floating near the crease, MacDonald scored 13 of his first 26 goals on the power play.…

Pierre wheels from his own zone—and you think to yourself he breaks a bit like Carl Brewer. None of this is coincidental. Monsieur Pilote is a composite of do-it-yourself defensemen who have earned his envy and admiration. There is even a chunk of Pierre Pilote in the composition—because there are some things which Monsieur Pilote feels he does quite well. Unfortunately, he has been unable to add the chassis…

Windy City Fans Polled For Reaction To Black Hawks’ Big Year
CHICAGO, III.— The Chicago Black Hawks have the largest crowds in the National Hockey League this season and also the most patient and the most rabid. As the Black Hawks battle Toronto and Montreal down the stretch drive to what may be their first regular season title in their history, THE HOCKEY NEWS went to the fans to get their reactions. Here are the comments of a cross section of three fans—one a barber who has been watching the Black Hawks play since they were organized in 1926… one a business executive who has been a hockey fan for 20 years and a Black Hawk follower for…
