IHL All-Star Selectors Will Find It Tough Job
CINCINNATI, O.— Just like a veteran getting ready for a hockey season—tougher with each year—scribes in the International Hockey League will find it rugged to pick an all-star team for the 1961-62 campaign. Said one observer, “The hockey talent that has been coming into the International Hockey League the past few seasons, is of top-grade quality. Sometimes we need a‘ouigi-board’ to pick the best players.” Ray Mikulan, Minneapolis’ fine netminder walked off with first team goaltender honors last season. Other first team mentions were Cy Whiteside of the Millers and Muskegon’s Gerry Glaude at defense with Len Thomson, Ft. Wayne, centering for Ken Hayden, Muskegon, at right wing and Ken Yackel, Minneapolis player-coach on left flank.
