BUFFALO, N.Y. — When someone asked Owner Ruby Pastor of the Buffalo Bisons what he considered the turning point of the season as far as his club was concerned, Ruby didn’t hesitate a moment in answering. “That was the day I was able to pick up Defenseman Gus Mortson on waivers from the Detroit Red Wings,” he said. “Gus has been great for us. I would consider him the most I important factor in our winning.” Gus, now in his 14th season of professional hockey, has aided the Bisons to their First American Hockey League title since 1952-53. Petes Draft DeJordy To Replate Caron In Cage In Eastern Final
GUELPH, Ont.— Peterborough Petes, who’ve had some uncommon success with goalkeeping switches in the playoffs, are hoping their latest moves in that direction will follow the precedent set in two earlier netminding changes and bring them a comeback triumph in the Eastern Canada Junior finals. Dennis Dejordy, OHA All-Star goalkeeper with St. Catharines Teepees, is the third netminder to occupy the TPT cage is post-season play and if his first game is any indication Ottawa-Hull Junior Canadiens may be in for a longer series than they expected.
