BUFFALO, N.Y.— The Buffalo Bisons are hopeful history will repeat itself. Not in respect to the way the Herd finished in the American League standings the last two seasons. A third season out of the playoffs would be disastrous. The “hopes” concern the play of goaltender Marcel Paille. Bison brass look to Paille to emu late the work of two previous Buffalo goalies who were French-Canadian—Connie Dion and Jacques Plante. Dion and Plante standout as the two most successful puckstoppers of the 43 Buffalo has tried between the pipes since 1940. Dion’s chief contribution to the Buffalo cause during six years as a Bison was his steadiness. NEW YORK. N.Y.—Five of lhe six members of the AHL All-Star squad have gone to National League clubs and the sixth is still in the league, but in new surroundings. Johnny Bower, the goaler has gone to Toronio while defenseman Steve Kraftcheck went to the Leafs as well. Centre Willie Marshall is also in Toronio while left wing AllStar Gerry Ehman is in Detroit with the right wing choice Dune Fisher.
