Chicks Smother Quebec Under 7-Goals Barrage
QUEBEC, Que.— The Quebec Aces were jolted out of their complacency in no uncertain fashion on Sunday, April 14 when 11,000 of their stoutest supporters watched the Chicoutimi Sa-gueneens blast seven goals past Al Millar as the Chicks took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Quebec Hockey League final with a 7-9 victory. The Aces had been riding along in comparative easy fashion. After blasting the Trois-Rivieres Lions in four straight games, they went on to win the opener of the final series. They dropped the second game by a 6-3 count in Chicoutimi but coach Ike Parent wasn’t unduly concerned.
