Chicks And Aces Hold 3-0 Leads In QHL Series

CHICOUTIMI, Que.— Amid general rejoicing on the three straight triumphs of their beloved Sagueneens over Royals in the playoff semis, fans in these parts were ready to hold a group of hockey writers and broadcasters to certain scorn. Sure, it does look like a bonanza spring with the Sags almost surely heading into the finals for the Thomas O’Connel Memorial Trophy against Quebec Aces, but there a lurking suspicion that many scribes and spielers are mentally unbalanced. Suggested for examination by psychiatrists are 25 representatives of the Fourth Estate, who, in voting for Alt Star teams, and slotting other awards, failed to give due Lonor to Chicoutimi stars. Double So Rochester’s Bobby Perreault rose to sensational heighths in the first two games of the Calder Cup playoffs by recording a pair of back-to-back shutouts against the Providence Reds. Home Ice Home ice didn’t prove any advantage in the Calder Cup playoff openers.
