$250,000 Rink To Open Soon At Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, Mass. The determination and initiative of 58-year old native of a Nova Scotia have added another link to New England’s growing chain of rinks with artificial ice. When the rest of the building is completed this spring it will include dressing rooms, lobby, concessions stand, rest rooms and office. Salt went into the hockey business as a property-owner shortly after World War II, to provide playing facilities for the…

The strange thing is that Blake is getting more goals from his forwards than perhaps he expected, especially when you take into consideration the prolonged absence of Bernie Geoffrion, the three-week loss of Maurice Richard and the sidelining in the early…

Leafs’ New “Kid Line” Off To Roaring Start

TORONTO, Ont. — It wasn’t a completely Black Christmas for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although the team was wallowing in the NHL’s second division, hampered by injuries and an overabundance of youth, General Manager Hap Day managed to find sunshine in the birth of what he termed a new “Kid Line.” In the first seven games they played together, the unit of Brian and Barry Cullen and Bob Pulford had produced the creditable record of seven goals while relinquishing only one. And individually, the line members stood one-two-three among Leafs in Day’s log of goals scored and goals scored by Leafs and against peats while each player is on the ice, Barry topped the field with a 15-5 mark. Brother Brian had 13 for and seven against, one of the negative scores coming while Leafs…
