Patrick Hopes To Meet Habs In First Round Of Playoffs

NEW YORK, N.Y.— As long as Ranger front office tiffs remain on the pleasant plane they are now everything will be honky-dory in giddy Gotham. At the moment the only evident point GM Muzz Patrick and coach Phil Watson disagree on is the choice of New York’s first-round playoff opponent. Local observers should be glad to know that they’re beginning to believe Rangers are “in”. Wonder whether Chi-Bruins-Leafs will consent to the breeze? Tibbs had led Troy to its seventh straight victory hours earlier, 4-2 over Grand Rapids, and he then jumped in his car and motored 70 miles to Cincinnati to watch the Mohawks beat the Toledo-Marion Mercs, 3-1. “Didn’t have anything to do tonight, so I decided to come on down and see Cincinnati play,” Tibbs explained. The night before, against Indianapolis, Tibbs had turned in his seventh shutout of the season, 2-0, also at Hobart Arena in Troy. “That’s the most shutouts I’ve ever had in one season,” modest Bill admitted. “I don’t know what it is this year. I just feel good out…
