Two For Orval Orval Tessier scored two goals in his first game as a member of the Quebec Aces on Tuesday, December 13. He had the equalizer and winner in a 7-6 victory. Meger a Visitor Paul Meger, formerly with Montreal Royals, was a visitor at last week’s Royals-Sagueneens game at the Forum. Paul’s playing career was ended last year through injuries. INSIDE STUFF About Earl Balfour

Frederick Earl Balfour was born in Toronto, Ont., January 4, 1933. A 6’1”, 180 pound left winger, he shoots left and lastplayed amateur hockey with Toronto Marlboro Juniors. Played three games with the Leafs in 1951-52, then joined the Pittsburgh Hornets in the following season when he took part in 63 games. Has commuted between Leafs and Hornets since then and is now hoping to become a permanent member of the Leafs. FAVORITE READING MATERIAL: Books by Mickey Spillane. FIGHT WITH POLICE…This is a season of very unusual developments in Northern Ontario senior hockey…a fiery game between Pembroke Lumber Kings and North Bay Trappers generated trouble between Johnny Bailey of Pembroke and police officers…Bailey received a penalty then had a misconduct sentence tagged on to the minor…in the penalty box he started a verbal barrage with some of the fans…police allege he used profane language…police and players exchanged blows in a hectic stick-swinging fracas around the penalty-box.. some of the fans jumped out of their seats and took part…police charge Bailey started swinging, but Johnny insisted it was the police who started throwing fists…Constable Al Farrow said he cautioned Bailey about using allegedly profane language…then blows started but reports are conflicting as to who started swinging first…Constable Elmer Simms…
